Snipe-IT 8.8.1.r5
– Fix recurring HTTP 500 caused by DB_HOST=db DNS failures in surviving web containers.
– Inspect actual DB_HOST within existing Docker container, NOT only app.env.
– If unresolved, connect existing web and MariaDB containers to isolated Docker bridge AdmSnipeIT_DB_DNS, with network-scoped DB alias ‘db’.
– Check DNS resolution and TCP 3306 reachability before reporting RUNNING.
– Keep R4 OAuth and Laravel permission fixes, official icon and port 40566.
– Preserve existing app.env, db.env, database, OAuth keys, application config and containers. No automatic container replacement, DB migrations or credentials regenerated.
– If network allocation is exhausted, report WARNING and actionable logs instead of corrupting or deleting data.
Snipe-IT was made for IT asset management, to enable IT departments to track who has which laptop, when it was purchased, which software licenses and accessories are available
