Version 2026.09.07.r4
– Fixed helper discovery when ADM launches start-stop.sh through /etc/script.
– Uses the canonical /usr/local/AppCentral/NitterDocker package directory first.
– Keeps runtime-derived paths only as compatibility fallbacks.
– Recreates the previously broken Nitter and setup containers with valid file mounts.
Nitter is a free and open-source alternative front end for Twitter/X focused on privacy and performance. This ASUSTOR integration deploys Nitter with an isolated Redis cache and a local setup assistant.
IMPORTANT SETUP NOTICE
X no longer allows Nitter to retrieve public content without an authenticated session. After installation, click Open to launch the local setup assistant on port 3223. Sign in to X in your own browser, retrieve the auth_token and ct0 cookies, and paste them into the assistant. The assistant validates their format, securely updates /share/Docker/Nitter/sessions.jsonl and reloads Nitter automatically. Your X password is never requested or stored. The assistant token is located in /share/Docker/Nitter/setup-token.txt.
For security and reliability, use a dedicated secondary X account. X may expire or suspend sessions used by third-party software. Each NAS must use its own session; no shared account is embedded in this package. Nitter itself is available on port 3222 after setup.
